The Zonta Club of Fort Collins project to recognize women called 'Her Legacy: Women of Fort Collins' has been a dream for four years. December 10, 2014 we were fully approved to create a permanent ' Historic Women's Public Art Exhibit in our Old Town Historic District by the Fort Collins Historic Preservation Society
The following further explains context of our project:

•Curriculum written for Elementary (2nd grade Fort Collins and 4th grade Colorado History)
To coincide with Colorado History/Rendezvous held each year
•Curriculum written for Middle/High School
To work with PSD Curriculum specialist
•Curriculum for FRCC/LC and CSU Women’s Study Departments
To work with Professors from each institution
•Curriculum specific for art classes middle school to college
•Six panels/24 faces rotated out and replaced with 24 new portraits/ portrait panels utilized as traveling art exhibits
• Audio interviews of living women's life journey's to be posted on website, similar to Public Radio's, KUNC, Story Hour interviews.
•Each picture will have name and QR code with all info on our website

The Women's Legacy Mural location:
The portrait panels will be located in Old Town Fort Collins, on the Northside of CooperSmith’s Pizza/Pub utilizing six (6) large black windows for women’s portraits. There will be (4) four portraits per window, (6) six windows in all for first 24 women to be recognized. The unveiling event is planned for 2018. Stay tuned, you will not want to miss this celebration.

- To recognize women with ties to Fort Collins who have contributed to the fabric of our community
- To recognize 48 women total, 24 initially and to rotate in next 24 over two years time
- These portraits that are rotated out will be utilized as art exhibits in classrooms and art museums
- To include our community in nomination and selection process
- Local Artist Rachael Davis, MFA CSU-Art Exhibit Director; Trish Murtha Water Color artist and Isis Lanigan, artist/photographer
- Pictures will be 3-8 color woodcut reduction process, and digitally printed on the laminate graffiti protected coated background
- One far East small window will explain the Women’s Legacy Mural Project
